Marine Parade

Marine Promenade, at the Rotunda. And er, the kid in the picture, or the little girl in the picture, is my sister Sam – we all call her ‘our Sam’ – she’s a lot younger than us. Taken around about the mid-eighties, and I remember this ride myself from when I was a kid. The Rotunda was er - probably everyone in Folkestone used to visit the Rotunda quite often – it was great fun. It’s a shame that, er, some of the landmarks of the Rotunda aren’t there no more, such as the dome and so on, but we all remember the Rotunda with fond memories. The face… what particularly I like about this photograph is my little sister’s face. She’s er, she’s in her mid to late twenties now, and she’s got four children – and that grimace probably represents what we see quite a lot from Sammy. She’s er – she can get quite angry sometimes, but she’s always… always good fun, and this is a great little photograph!
