I used to ride my bike down the overgrown area on the right of this photo.. and skid around the corner (occasionally falling off!!).
If I was really daring I'd ride down - jump straight off the end and continue down the hill to the phone box.
Back in 1964 (?) the phone was one of the old "Press button A - Press button B" as well as the dial. - I remember once pressing button B and some money came out. I thought it was a magic phone !! - turned out someone didn't press the button to get back any unused coins...
Last time I was there (2001) I spent many a happy evening inside the Brewers Arms - a change from being chased off by the landlady with a broom !!!
